BMWICOM A (A2, A3) – OBD diagnostic supporting MOST, D-CAN and K-CAN protocols
ICOM A is a basic component. Physically, on one hand, it supplies the interface that connects with car OBD II diagnosing interface; on the other hand, it can supply the interface that is self-adaptable intergraded into garage. As protocol converter, it is responsible for testing and data exchange in different controlling units, as well as signal processing through a high effective computer core. Electrical power pressure is supplied by vehicle interface. The lowest power pressure of Electrical operation of ICOM A is fixed to 8V. Only it exceeds the lowest value, can a stable function be guaranteed.
BMW ICOM A vs ICOM A2 vs ICOM A3
Modified ICOM A2 for vehicles with OBD access receives a significantly more powerful processor and more storage capacity. And robust
aluminium case will help to avoid damage when using in harsh environments. It works better in cooling, runs faster and works more stable, not easier broken than older ICOM A.
ICOM A3 can program all units for all BMW series expect media system, and work more stable and has stronger compatibility than ICOM A2, A1.
ICOM B – diagnosis via MOST bus, and possess link to A-interface through USB connection
ICOM B for vehicles with optical MOST access will be equipped with a soft cover made of rubber instead of the former plastic cap, to protect the MOST connector
ICOM B is the external MOST interface of ICOM A, and it connect with ICOM A by a usual USB or that within supplying. Power is supplied by USB through ICOM A.
Only when the power supplied to ICOM A lower to 8V, can electrical running of ICOM B be ready to connect with standard.
ICOM C–20-pin cable for previous types
ICOM C for old series with a diagnostics socket will be additionally equipped with an approx. 20 cm long cable, which facilitates the
connection of the ICOM A2 and makes storage in the engine compartment easier.
ICOM C in an intelligent interface converter, which makes OBD II compatible with BMW round plug. As a lengthened auxiliary module, it makes ICOM A connects with non-OBD II vehicle module. Power is supplied by round plug through KL30.The lowest pressure of ICOM C electrical running regulated to 8v. Electrical pressure on KL30 is conveyed to OBD II through internal equipment, and then to ICOM A. Only when vehicle battery voltage ICOM C exceeds to the lowest limitation, can it guarantee the stable interactivity of the two equipments.

Below there is an field for a license. we also copied the license from an other and earlier version(3.44.30 which seems to be update only) in this field but still can’t click on the next button which is greyed out.

After We’ve read it never would activate in a VMware VM I’ve installed it on a physical machine but same problems there.
The only thing you need to do is run the “ID.reg” file so it will add some info to the registry. After this, ISTA/D should work fine.

To read opel insignia EDC17 C59 in a cheap way
First, you need the main unit—ktag ksuite V2.13 ECU master
16-way rainbow ribbon cable 144300T105
Two 470 Ohm resistors
You can start reading Opel Insignia ECU now!
Take apart the ECU from vehicle, open the ECU unit and connect ECU with KTAG
If you don’t know how to connect to ECU, you can choose “Plug-in 688…” to check detailed connection instruction, or it may cause damage to ECU, good luck for you!
Select vehicle model and ECU: OPEL-> Insignia -> BOSCH EDC17C59
reading the instruction in detail and solder wires, successfully connect to ECU with KTAG v6.070
Then click OK to continue
Select the plug-in 688
Ktag is identifying ECU…wait for a while
Then it is reading EEPROM…the operation may take several minutes
KTAG ECU Programmer Reading ECU17C59 successfully! You can save the file to “OPEL-Insignia-2012-ECU17C59”
Finally, Remove the soldered wires and the resistors before re-installing the ECU to vehicle.

I have met trouble with my Chinese clone KTAG master SW V2.13 FW V6.070. I connected the device to internet and now show C0000 in customer code and now 0 tokens. Anybody has a solution to this?
You need new SD card of 4GB. Format new SD card fat 32, plug it in ksuite 2.08, with Update folder of 6.070, launch ksuite and start update. After finish all OK, with 30 tokens.
My KTAG ECU programmer has been connected to Internet, now it’s locked! The client and group code just changed to C5555, I put new SD card in and it still not working. Now customer code changed to C5328 and all protocols have been grey out! Can someone please help me to unlock?

Visteon DCU-102 sometimes called FOMOCO.
Same unit and procedure applies to PSA, Ford and Fiat vans. In this case car is a Peugeot Boxer. No resistors required.
Tool you need:
KTAG ECU Programming Tool
K-TAG read ECU Visteon DCU-102 procedure:
Step1. Take out the ECU unit and heat the unit edges to open it safely.
Step2. Connect ECU with KTAG according to following pin out diagram:
Step3. Connect KTAG with computer then open ksuite software. Click the car icon and choose “Peugeot” and “Boxer III”. Then choose ECU: Visteon DCU102 KW 74 HP 11.
Step4. Click “Read” to start.
Wait the process complete to 100% and KTAG ECU Programmer read ECU Visteon DCU102 successfully! Now you can save the bin file.
Step1. Open Audi A3 ECU EDC17C46 unit: first heat the edge to soften glue inside then open it carefully not to damage the circuit board.
Step2. Open K-TAG ECU Programmer software. Connect the cable 14P600KT02 to ECU connector according to following pin out diagram:
Step3. Take a wire, cut the wire cover at the middle. Solder its two ends to the two pins (red) as follow:
Click “Read” and wait it 100% complete. And then save the bin file.

WINDOWS XP – The Found New Hardware wizard should be displayed. On the first screen, select “Install the software automatically (Recommended)”. Click “Next” to continue. A message may appear “This software has not passed Windows Logo Testing……” Select “Continue Anyway”. Click “Finish” when installation is complete.
WINDOWS VISTA/WINDOWS 7 – No action is required. The system tray should display a balloon stating “Installing Cummins Inline 6”.
NOTE: If there is a previously installed INLINE 6 driver, you may need to remove the older driver before proceeding.
After you have connected your INLINE 6 to your computer and the computer recognizes it as a valid device – you may need to update the firmware in the adapter. Please see the section below on using the INLINE 6 Cummin Diagnostic Tool.

To use the INLINE 6, you must select it from within the application you are using. Each application has a unique method for selecting datalink adapters. Please refer to the application’s documentation for instructions on selecting RP1210 compliant adapters.
