I personally went for VM WS installation, because of the portability is a very important issue
\nfor me.<\/p>\n

For these run out of disk space, like me, i suggest to install ISTA+in VMWare WS Ver 12X with
\nwin7 X64 Guest, Earlier VMWare versions down to 10 probably will work as well. Disk space need
\nruns to 350GB. I used 350GB diskspace on SSD installed in a caddy sitting in DVD slot of an i3
\nnotebook.<\/p>\n

ISTA can be working good soon, in case you are following the excellent instructibles of spider80
\nwithout missing not a one step of instruction.<\/p>\n

X86 apps in VM X64 environment like itoolradar arose a java problem, even when I tried to
\nisntall an outdated X86 Java version.<\/p>\n

Mayor Ista+\/ISTA P<\/a> Working like a charm(i used icom with latest firmware update). Running ISTA-P
\nrequires good charging<\/p>\n

equipment with constant additional load otherwise it will quit session. BMW currentliy advices
\nsupply> 70A. For older cars like E-series.
\n25A seem to be ok in my opinion.

Installed…100% working…so had to log back in and reply with Big thanks to the super package

Just had two little snags when installing under win7 X86….<\/p>\n

1) vcrdist_X86 2008.exe download was corrupt…but easily solved by re-downloading from
\nmicrosh@ft
\n2) no java included in download package…again easily found via Guugle! many thanks again
\nspider80…you’re done an supporb job here. with brilliant step by step instructions<\/p>\n

now I just need to find an BMW ICOM Next interface at reasonable money for all to fully work on
\nlatest B’Mers!<\/p>\n
