This article will show you how to use PCMtuner<\/a> on Ford SID208, The same process applies to Ford SID209, how to select the appropriate module during operation?<\/p>\n

Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 1. Identification
\nIdentify ECU via OBD with ECU in car, or on bench with OBD breakout.
\nSelect Module 07 \u2013 Ford SID208, click \u201cIdentification\u201d.<\/p>\n

Note these ECU details including VIN, SW Version, etc. if needed.
\nWe can get VR files or damos for free by these details.<\/p>\n

Step 2. Read Password
\nSelect Password option on Module 53.
\nThen select
\nInfineon Tricore BSL>>Password>>Ford SID208<\/p>\n

Step 3. Save Password
\nClick \u201cRead\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wait for password reading.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Save it as a file. (Default file name will be serial number, which are also on ECU cover)<\/p>\n

Also, program will also display ECU status like if signature verification is enabled.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Note:
\nIf signature verification is disabled, we can read\/write this ECU as regular SID208\/SID209; If not, go to Step 4.<\/p>\n

Step 4. BSL Unlock
\nOpen ECU, solder two 1k\u03a9 resistors:
\nConnect 1k\u03a9 resistors to two via points, connect the end of the resistors to the two upper pads.<\/p>\n

Step 5. Read ECU
\n1)Micro
\nSelect Module 53 \u2013 TC1797 Micro, click \u201cRead\u201d.
\nLoad password file we just got.<\/p>\n

Program starts to read ECU micro data, which may take around 2-3 minutes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Save data file.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

2)EEPROM
\nRepeat above steps for EEPROM data.
\nSelect Module 53 \u2013 TC1797 EEPROM.<\/p>\n

Then, Identification>>Read>>Load Password File>>Read and save EEPROM file
\nNow we can write EEPROM or Micro data back to ECU,
\nOr remove resistors, restore module, and write normally.<\/p>\n

Note:
\n1)When writing file, PCMflash will not correct checksum on this ECU, please manually checksum with things like winOLS.<\/p>\n
