There have customer connect with Cummins INSITE<\/a> and he have error code 5204 or only no connection and not blinking the leds<\/p>\n

This is the error 5204 popped up when connect Prostar 2005 with cummins engine: ECM connection
\nError number: 5204<\/p>\n

Communication between the data link adapter and the ECM could not be established.<\/p>\n

Please check the following conditions:
\nThe key switch is on
\nThe cables are between the data link and the ECM are properly connected
\nThe cables are in good condition
\nThe correct adapteunication protocol is selected
\nr type is selected
\nThe correct comm<\/p>\n

Select retry, cancel or help for additional troubleshooting steps
\nHere is what have been tried but failed!
\nTry to connect whit J1939\u2026..same issue<\/p>\n

On truck does not even get the engine and the others only couple line and very slow, might be some thing with them trucks<\/p>\n

some things odd2006 models connect through J1939 and works.
\nTryed on 3 trucks already that are 2005 and older the connect thought J1708 it says engine 128
\nAnd when doing the J 1939 test on them it says something like data error<\/p>\n

Check the driver is installed well
\nJ1939 & J1708 are added to the software<\/p>\n

Finally, SOLVED!
\nThe solution is this, connect, then scan to diagnostic connector but not to USB, open the Cummins insite and push connect, when the Insite begin to connect, immediately connect the USB and ready\u2026.
\nThe final tip- Error Messages for communication failures:
\nError 5200: Indicates communication loss between computer and the datalink
\nadapter.
\nError 5201: Indicates communication loss between the datalink adapter and the
\nECM.
\nError 5202: Indicates no communication could be established between the
\ndatalink adapter and the computer.
\nError 5204: Indicates no communication could be established between the
\ndatalink adapter and the ECM.
\nIf the \u201cAuto Configure\u201d and\/or \u201cDatalink Adapter Connection Test\u201d do not find the adapter when connected, manually configure the Cummins Inline 6 Data link adapter connection.<\/p>\n
