Steps:<\/p>\n

Step 1. Diagnose fault code<\/p>\n

Enter the launch scan tool main menu<\/p>\n

Select BMW newest software version>> Automatically search>> Coding\/Program<\/p>\n

Detect the vehicle info and some fault codes in the system list<\/p>\n

Step 2.Clear fault code<\/p>\n

Select ABS (Anti- Lock Braking system- DSC)<\/p>\n

Confirm the module information<\/p>\n

Clear fault code<\/p>\n

Step 3. Calibrate BMW DSC Steering Angle Sensor<\/p>\n

When read fault code again, it still shows 5E50 fault code<\/p>\n

5E50 DSC: Steering- Angle Sensor: Serial number; Calibration required<\/p>\n

Select Fault Guidance>> Special function- SZL\/DSC: Steering Angle Sensor Adjustment>> Operate<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The steering angle must be calibrated after following jobs:<\/p>\n

Replacement of steering column switch cluster
\nEncoding of DSC Control Unit
\nAdjustment work on steering geometry
\nWorking on steering and\/or front axle<\/p>\n

The run flat indicator must be additionally initialed after adjusting the steering angle on completion of the following work:<\/p>\n

Encoding of DSC control unit
\nReplacement of DSC control unit<\/p>\n

Steering Angle Sensor matching\u2026<\/p>\n

For vehicle starting from 12\/2004, the SZL must be encoded after a replacement.<\/p>\n

The adjustment of the steering angle sensor in the steering column switch cluster only works ro the steering column switch cluster is encoded.<\/p>\n

The steering column switch cluster is automatically encoded as the DSC control unit is encoded.<\/p>\n

Press \u2018No\u2019 to continue<\/p>\n

Exactly set front wheels to straight-ahead position. The steering wheel must be positioned horizontally (approximate setting sufficient)<\/p>\n

Adjustment of the steering angle was successful<\/p>\n

Visually align the steering wheel in horizontal position to check the zero position of the steering angle (wheels in straight ahead position)<\/p>\n

Steering angle: 0.000000 degrees<\/p>\n

Check whether the displayed steering angle 0 degrees<\/p>\n

Press \u2018Yes\u2019 to continue<\/p>\n

Adjustment of the steering angle was carried out correctly<\/p>\n

Initialise run flat indicator if necessary (see owner\u2019s handbook)<\/p>\n

Service function finished<\/p>\n

Finally, read fault code again<\/p>\n

Now there is no DTC on the screen.<\/p>\n
