We shared the first one about SDconnect configuration with Xentry wired, here we show another method to configure over the air.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparations<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/benz-xentry-openshell-xdos-diagnostic-software-free-download\/\">Benz Xentry OpenShell.XDOS 2022 Free Download<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note:Please note that comprehensive IT knowledge is absolutely required for this configuration!<br \/>\nIf necessary, contact your local IT administrator. (Administrator rights are always required for any changes to the network settings.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedures<\/strong>:<br \/>\nConfiguring the wireless operation via access point (workshop infrastructure)<br \/>\nStart the SDconnect Administration Toolkit via Windows Start &gt; All Programs &gt; Mercedes-Benz &gt;<br \/>\nSDconnect Administration.<br \/>\nOn the left side you will see a list of connected SDconnect devices, if applicable. The currently<br \/>\nconnected SDconnect should be displayed with its number, the \u201cCable\u201d status and \u201cAccessible\u201d. Configure the SDconnect for cable operation if this has not already been done.<br \/>\nThe configuration consists of two main steps:<br \/>\n\u2013 Configuration of the SDconnect for an ad-hoc connection<br \/>\n\u2013 Configuration of the computers for the connection<\/p>\n<p><strong>Configuration of SDconnect<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Call up the SDconnect Administration Toolkit. Select Windows Start &gt; All Programs &gt; Mercedes-Benz &gt; SDconnect Administration.<br \/>\nYou should see the SDconnect currently connected by cable with its number and the \u201cCable\u201d and \u201cAccessible\u201d status displayed on the left side. Select this SDconnect from the list. The data shown on the right is updated. Select the \u201cRegister\/configure\u201d tab.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/benz-xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-sdconnect\/benz-xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-sdconnect-5\/#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-13609\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13609\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Benz-Xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-SDconnect-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"746\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Benz-Xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-SDconnect-5.jpg 746w, https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Benz-Xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-SDconnect-5-300x123.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 746px) 100vw, 746px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On this tab, first click the \u201cWLAN parameters, road\u201d option under \u201cGeneral information\u201d.<br \/>\nSelect your country from the drop-down list on the right for the WLAN regional settings.<br \/>\nMake sure that the \u201cWLAN parameters, workshop\u201d box is not checked.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, check the \u201cWLAN parameters, road\u201d box.<br \/>\nEnter a static IP address for the SDconnect that is not yet used in your workshop. In our example we use the address 172.29.127.124. Do not change the network mask.<br \/>\nChange the SSID entry from the \u201cRoad24h\u201d default value to a different value.<br \/>\nThe value for the SSID must be unique for this combination of SDconnect and system.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/benz-xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-sdconnect\/benz-xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-sdconnect-6\/#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-13608\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Benz-Xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-SDconnect-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"495\" height=\"370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Benz-Xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-SDconnect-6.jpg 495w, https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Benz-Xentry-diagnostic-software-configuration-with-SDconnect-6-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this example we set the SSID value to \u201cSDconnect P2P_14\u201d, which is unique for the system and SDconnect combination.<br \/>\nTo date, SDconnect only supports WEP encoding. Therefore, you must configure your<br \/>\nAccess Point correspondingly if you are currently using a different encryption type.<br \/>\nEnter the WEP key (exactly 13 characters). The tool then shows a summary of all settings for the SDconnect including the WLAN settings.<br \/>\nNow the computer must be configured for the Peer2Peer connection (administrator rights required).<br \/>\nOpen the dialog for the Windows WLAN network adapter. Open the Windows Control Panel and the \u201cNetwork and Sharing Center\u201d. Select \u201cChange adapter settings\u201d on the left.<br \/>\nDouble-click to open the currently active WLAN connection and go to \u201cProperties\u201d, or right-click<br \/>\nthe adapter icon and select \u201cProperties\u201d.<br \/>\nIn the list of connection items, select the entry \u201cTCP\/IP Version 4\u201d and click \u201cProperties\u201d below \u201c:<br \/>\nSelect the option \u201cUse the following IP address\u201d and enter a static IP address from the same range (172.29.127.X, where X stands for a number between 0 and 254, however not the corresponding number of the SDconnect address) like for the address entered for the SDconnect before.<br \/>\nFor example, select the address: 172.29.127.130.<\/p>\n<p>Keep the value of the network mask and leave the \u201cDefault gateway\u201d field empty.<br \/>\nAlso, select the \u201cUse the following DNS server addresses\u201d option.<br \/>\nHowever, leave the address field empty.<br \/>\nClick \u201cOK\u201d. The SSID that you entered during configuration of the SDconnect should now be displayed. If not, click \u201cUpdate\u201d.<br \/>\nSelect this SSID and click \u201cConnect\u201d. Here, it is possible to configure DoIP both for a connection via cable (directly or by USB2LAN adapter) and a wireless connection, while the connection has been set up using a static IP address on the Open Shell system.<\/p>\n<p>Setting up the DoIP connection is carried out using a second static IP address for the network adapter which has already been installed for SD communication. Therefore, according to the specific configuration, this adapter will either be the LAN connection via the Ethernet card, integrated in the system, the USB2LAN-Adapter\u2019s LAN connection or even a wireless connection.<br \/>\nIn order to configure DoIP, please open the respective network adapter\u2019s settings: please open the Windows Control Panel and then the \u201cNetwork and Sharing Center\u201d. Please select the entry \u201cChange adapter settings\u201d on the top left. Please double click the tile for the respective network adapter.<\/p>\n<p>In the window, please click on \u201cSettings\u201d and then select the entry \u201cInternet protocol Version 4 (TCP\/IPv4)\u201d from the list of connection elements.
