Caterpillar ET diagnostic software Trainer function runs the service tool in a training mode. This provides an opportunity to become familiar with the service tool without connecting to an Electronic Control Module (ECM) or a Communication Adapter. There is no charge for Trainer and authorization is not required.<\/p>\n

How to Use:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 1 Click the \u201cStart\u201d button on the Task Bar. Select \u201cCaterpillar ET\u201d from the Programs menu, and then select \u201cElectronic Technician\u201d from the sub-menu. The Connection message box is displayed:<\/p>\n

Step 2 Click the \u201cStop Connect\u201d button. The Service Tool main screen is displayed.<\/p>\n

Step 3 Select \u201cTrainer\u201d from the Help menu, and then select \u201cEnable\u201d from the sub-menu.<\/p>\n

Or, click the \u201cEnable Trainer\u201d icon if default toolbar is set.<\/p>\n

The \u201cTrainer\u201d dialog box is displayed:<\/p>\n

Step 4 Select a product from the Application menu.<\/p>\n

Step 5 To start Trainer, click the \u201cOK\u201d button. The Connection message box is displayed. The ECM Summary screen displays in Trainer Mode if the default startup tool is set. Once started, Trainer simulates some of the service tool functions.<\/p>\n

Note: When the service tool is operating in training mode, \u201cTrainer Active\u201d displays.
\nTo change the product simulated within Trainer:
\nStep 1 Select \u201cTrainer\u201d from the Help menu, and then select \u201cProperties\u201d from the submenu. The Trainer dialog box is displayed.
\nStep 2 Select a different product from the Application drop-down list.
\nStep 3 Click \u201cOK.\u201d The Connection message box is displayed. The ECM Summary screen for the new product displays in Trainer Mode.<\/p>\n

To exit Trainer:
\nSelect \u201cTrainer\u201d from the Help menu and select \u201cDisable\u201d on the sub-menu or click the \u201cDisable
\nTrainer\u201d icon.<\/p>\n
