{"id":2269,"date":"2019-08-16T03:11:20","date_gmt":"2019-08-16T03:11:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/?p=2269"},"modified":"2019-08-25T02:04:44","modified_gmt":"2019-08-25T02:04:44","slug":"gm-new-instrument-panel-cluster-ipc-programming-instructions-after-replacement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/gm-new-instrument-panel-cluster-ipc-programming-instructions-after-replacement\/","title":{"rendered":"GM New Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Programming Instructions After Replacement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GM vehicles equipped with a digital instrument panel cluster (IPC),\u00a0and if you replace a IPC you will find you can not start vehicle.It require you to relearn\/program the new instrument panel cluster.So here i want to list the procedures on how to program new instrument panel cluster for <span>GM<\/span>\u00a0vehicles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/GM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2270\" title=\"GM\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/GM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"664\" height=\"492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/GM.png 664w, https:\/\/www.cnautotool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/GM-300x222.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 664px) 100vw, 664px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Program GM New Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) After Replacement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Follow the security system (PASSLOCK) AUTO LEARN procedure outlined below to enable the replacement IPC and the ECC to communicate and learn a new password: <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.Before replacing the ECC, document all existing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) prior to repair.<\/p>\n<p>2.Place the ignition key in the ON position.<\/p>\n<p>3.Using the clear DTC function, clear all security system (PASSLOCK) and Powertrain DTCs.<\/p>\n<p>4.Rotate the ignition key to the CRANK position (attempt to start the vehicle). The engine will attempt to start and stall. Leave the key in the ON position.<\/p>\n<p>5.Wait 10 minutes. Observe the SECURITY light. The SECURITY light will flash for a few seconds and remain on for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>6.Turn the ignition key to the OFF position after the SECURITY light goes out. Wait for at least 30 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>7.Repeat steps 4-7 two (2) more times. A new password is now ready to be communicated to the security system (PASSLOCK) sensor, IPC and ECC with the next ignition cycle (start attempt).<\/p>\n<p>8.If the engine starts, the Password Auto Learn procedure is complete. If the engine fails to start, perform relearn procedure again.<\/p>\n<p>9.Check for any DTCs.
