OBD Diagnostic Center will guide you on how to install the\u00a0VAG COM 12.10.3<\/a> USB cable on your Windows system. vag com 12.10.3 will then successfully work with VCDS OBD-II software and your vag car.<\/p>\n

STEP 1: Download VAGCOM VCDS 12.10.3 software(Drivers):
\nFor Windows Vista, 7, 8:
\nUncompress the file. Double-click on “Install.exe” to install the drivers. When complete \u2014 plug in the cable into any USB port on your computer and wait as it installs automatically.
\nFor Windows XP:
\nUncompress the file. Double-click on “Vcds 12.10.3<\/a>\u00a0 Install.exe” to install the\u00a0VAG 12.10.3<\/a> drivers.
\nPlug the vagcom 12.10 cable into an appropriate USB port.
\nThe \u2018Found New Hardware Wizard\u2019 will start and it will ask you \u201cCan Windows connect to Windows Update to search for the software?\u201d. Select \u2018Yes\u2019.
\nSelect \u201cVCDS 12.10.3 Install the software automatically\u201d.
\nAfter the installation is complete, click \u201cFinish\u201d.
\nThe \u2018Found New Hardware Wizard\u2019 will start once again because there are two drivers for this cable.
\nGo through the same steps as explained above to install this second driver.<\/p>\n

STEP 2: Discover What Port Number Your VAGCOM VCDS 12.10.3 Cable is Using
\nGo to Control Panel.
\nWindows Vista\/7\/8: Control Panel \u00bb System \u00bb Device Manager
\nWindows XP: Control Panel \u00bb System \u00bb “Hardware” tab \u00bb Device Manager
\nExpand “Other devices” or “Ports (COM & LPT)”. Whichever contains “USB Serial Port”.
\nNext to “VCDS 12.10.3 USB Serial Port” \u2014 you’ll see a number.
\nIf the COM port number is between 1-4, then everything is fine. And OBD software will successfully detect your cable and you can being scanning your car.
\nIf the COM port number is above 4, then we’ll have to change it so it’s between 1-4. Let’s do that now…
\nRight-click on “USB Serial Port” and click on “Properties” \u2014 as per below pic:
\nThen:
\nClick: Port Settings
\nClick: Advanced
\nFor “COM Port Number” \u2014 you MUST choose any number between 1-4.<\/p>\n
