Procedures:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.With CONSULT connected to the vehicle, select the \u201cVDR\u201d button.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

NOTE:The Trigger Button should be connected to the VI.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

2.Select the correct vehicle, model and build date (not shown).<\/p>\n

3.In this example we will select \u201cENGINE\u201d (the screen then automatically progresses from here).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

4.Touch the \u201cClear\u201d button (un-highlights the pre-selected items).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

5.Touch the items that require recording such as;<\/p>\n

-CKPS-RPM (TDC)\u00a0\u00a0 -MAIN INJ WID<\/p>\n

-ACCEL POS SEN\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -PUMP CURRENT<\/p>\n

-ACT CR PRESS\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -INT\/M PRES SE<\/p>\n

-MAS AIR\/FL SE*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -EGR\/V ANGLEVDR<\/p>\n

6.Touch the \u201dSetting\u201d tab.<\/p>\n

7.Reset the settings as follows:<\/p>\n

Ideally the \u201csampling rate should be slowed down a little (20 m.sec)
\nIt would also be suggested to increase the recording time to say 1 minute.
\nChange the trigger point to say 20% Pre and 80% Post.<\/p>\n

8.Once all of the items that require recording & the settings have been set, select \u201cConfirm<\/p>\n

NOTE:The \u201cTrigger Condition 1\u201d tab can be used to set items such as an auto record on engine stall or when a DTC is set. Simply tick or un-tick the appropriate boxes as required.<\/p>\n

9.Select:<\/p>\n

(i) \u201cTransfer Data to VI\u201d.<\/p>\n

(ii) Then select \u201cComplete\u201d, this locks the VI into the VDR mode.<\/p>\n

10.CONSULT automatically returns to the \u201cHome\u201d screen.CONSULT confirms it is in the VDRmode.The VI is to remain CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE, however the CONSULT can be shut down.The vehicle can now be driven to capture relevant data when the fault occurs.<\/p>\n

11.Reconnection of VDR (VI) to CONSULTAfter the road test and Data Recording activity is complete, switch ON CONSULT and connect the VDR via the normal method (or power up the VDR with it?s power adapter).<\/p>\n

12.Select the \u201cVDR\u201d button.<\/p>\n

13.The screen shown right will appear. Make sure to select \u201cUpload Recorded Data\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

14.Select the file\/s that you wish to upload.<\/p>\n

(i) Touch the \u201cShow Save\u201d button.<\/p>\n

(ii) This displays the data graph\/s (not shown).<\/p>\n

(iii) Save the file\/s using the \u201cSave\u201d icon. Remember to use the VIN as the file name.<\/p>\n

(iv) Close the data graph\/s.<\/p>\n

(v) Select \u201cEnd\u201d.<\/p>\n

(vi) Select \u201cConfirm\u201d to discard files in the VI (not shown).<\/p>\n

15.Select \u201cFinish VDR\u201d to return CONSULT and the VI to normal diagnosis mode.<\/p>\n

Press \u201cConfirm\u201d to erase all VDR files stored in the VI.<\/p>\n

CONSULT then automatically returns to the \u201cHome\u201d screen.<\/p>\n

16.Access your saved data from the \u201cRecorded Data\u201d folder.<\/p>\n

17.Select VDR to access and review your saved files.<\/p>\n
