Mini VCI Toyota Techstream Cable Configuration Guide
Step 1: Obtain Vediamo 4.2
- Ensure you have Vediamo version 4.2, as other versions may not support J2534 device configuration. You can find Vediamo 4.2 on platforms like MHHAuto or purchase through eBay with a keygen.
Step 2: Purchase the Mini VCI Cable
- Acquire a Mini VCI cable, available for under $30. Choose a price point that makes you comfortable for connecting to your vehicle.
Step 3: Install the Cable
- Connect your Mini VCI cable to your computer. No additional drivers are needed if recognized as “Serial bus converter” under Device Manager. Ensure the port is set to COM3, adjusting properties if necessary.
Step 4: Install Driver Software
- Download and install Autokent MVCI MultiDriver x64 2.0.1. Disable any antivirus temporarily to allow installation. Ensure to run the setup as an administrator.
Step 5: Configure Vediamo
- Navigate to the Vediamo software installation directory. Access the Caesar->driver folder, right-click on the “slave” file, go to Properties -> Security -> Edit, and add “everyone” with full permissions.
- Modify the “slave” file’s “Device name” in the “Part J” section to match the installed driver name from your registry.
Step 6: Update Vediamo Settings
- Open Vediamo start center, go to Vediamo Server, and choose Update. Only check “Part J” and “Pinmapping” boxes. Select the Autokent MVCI driver when prompted.
Step 7: Adjust Additional Settings
- In the Vediamo start center, click the notepad icon, select Ecoute options, and change the format of the variant code string from decimal to hex.
Connecting to Your Vehicle:
- When connecting to your vehicle, adjust the connection settings in Vediamo to “CANHS” from “KLine1 Communications” to ensure proper vehicle interface.
This setup will enable you to use Vediamo with a Mini VCI J2534 cable, allowing for extensive modifications and diagnostics on your vehicle’s computer systems.
