Remote Accelerator Pedal or Lever
Function Description:
The Remote Accelerator Pedal or Lever Mode allows an operator to control the engine remotely by using a remote accelerator pedal or lever. This mode is useful for situations where remote control of the engine speed is required, such as when operating auxiliary equipment.
- Primary Control: The in-cab accelerator pedal is still active unless the remote accelerator override feature is enabled.
- Remote Override: When enabled, the ECM (Engine Control Module) uses the signal from whichever pedal (in-cab or remote) gives the higher throttle value.
- The remote accelerator can be configured as a switch input or as an accelerator pedal potentiometer.
- The remote pedal does not use the idle validation switch like the primary pedal.
Adjustable Parameters:
- Remote Accelerator Pedal or Lever:
- In the ECM settings, use the drop-down menu to enable or disable this feature.
- Remote Accelerator Pedal or Lever Mode:
- From the ECM settings, select the desired operational mode or disable the feature entirely.
Data Monitor/Logger Monitoring:
To monitor the activity of the remote accelerator, the Data Monitor/Logger function in Cummins INSITE can be used to view parameters such as:
- PTO On/Off Switch (ON): Indicates whether the Power Take-Off (PTO) is engaged.
- Remote Accelerator Pedal or Lever Switch (ON): Shows if the remote accelerator is active.
- Remote Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Voltage: Monitors voltage from the remote pedal position sensor.
- Accelerator Pedal or Lever Percentage: Displays the percentage of throttle input from the main in-cab accelerator.
- Remote Accelerator Pedal or Lever Percentage: Displays the percentage of throttle input from the remote accelerator.
